HOCKEY
The Great Falls Ice Plex hosts a number of groups offering hockey programs for all ages, interests, and abilities. It's also home to the Great Falls Americans and the University of Providence Argos teams. Check out our hockey programs below.

Great Falls Americans
The Great Falls Ice Plex is the home venue for the Great Falls Americans Junior A Hockey Team (USA Hockey sanctioned Junior A Tier III team) that competes in a eight team league in the North American 3 Hockey League that plays from the end of September until March of every year.
The ice facility opened in November 2008 and has a seating capacity of around 1,500. The Great Falls Americans began as an expansion team during their 2011-2012 inaugural season originally part of the Northern Pacific Hockey League. The Americans were voted the 2012-13 AWHL Organization of the Year because of their dramatic turnaround in 2011-12 (1-48 record) to a much improved 16-30-2 record in 2012-13.

Women's Hockey
Great Falls Women’s Hockey League (GFWHL) is a recreational hockey club, designed to develop new women and men hockey players, improve skills of experienced players, and provide fun, fitness, and camaraderie, for all levels of play. GFWHL welcomes under age 18 skaters on an individual application basis.

University of Providence Argos
The Great Falls Ice Plex is home to the University of Providence men’s hockey team. The Argos program was founded in 2018, first competing in the ACHA in the 2018-19 season. The team has quickly gained a reputation as one of the top teams in the country, earning a 2 seed in the D2 West Region and earning a spot in the ACHA National Tournament in only the team’s second season. The team also qualified for the ACHA National Tournament in their third season, and earned their first ACHA All-American, Levi Anderson.
Fans can expect an exciting, competitive game against quality competition from around the United States. Teams from Montana, North Dakota, Utah and Colorado are routinely on the Argos schedule.
